Biggest New Long-Term LNG Contract in Q4 2017

The biggest new long-term LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) contract in Q4 2017 was signed between Delfin LNG Llc and China Gas Holding Limited on November 9, 2017. According to the contract, Delfin LNG Llc is expected to supply 3.0 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG from the US to China. The contract is for a period of 15 years, from 2021 to 2036.

Other Key Contracts Singed –

Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd and JERA signed the second-biggest contract for supply of 2.5 mtpa of LNG. The contract was signed on October 25, 2017. LNG will be supplied from Malaysia to Japan for a period of three years, from 2018 to 2021.

The third-biggest contract in the quarter was signed by Qatargas Operating Company Limited for supply of 1.1 mtpa of LNG to OMV Gas Marketing & Trading GmbH on December 20, 2017. LNG will be supplied for a period of five years from Qatar to the Netherlands. LNG supply is expected to start in 2019.
